The southern region of Coimbatore, despite its immense potential and contributions, has been overlooked when it comes to government support and infrastructure development. Recognizing the urgent need for change, over 40 associations have united to form the Coimbatore South Development Federation, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Madan A Senthil, Chairman of Rathinam Group of Institutions.
At the heart of our mission lies the resolve to address key issues that have long hindered the progress of this vibrant part of the city. From tackling the persistent problem of the Waste Dump Depot to advocating for the establishment of the Podanur Railway through central government grants, our federation is committed to bringing about meaningful change.
One of our primary objectives is the creation of a modernized bus terminus in the southern area. With IT parks, colleges, and universities boasting capacities of over 10,000 students each, ensuring efficient transportation infrastructure is paramount. Additionally, the enforcement of law and order, as well as updated safety measures, are imperative to uphold the well-being of our community.
Moreover, the extension of the Coimbatore International Airport presents a significant opportunity for growth. Not only will it facilitate the expansion of the bypass, but it will also contribute to the overall development of our beloved city, often referred to as the “southern Manchester.”
Join us in our journey to transform Coimbatore South into a thriving hub of innovation, progress, and prosperity. Together, we can build a brighter future for generations to come.
